Location or Near Me
Open iPhone Settings → Apps → TrailRide → Location and select While Using the App. Turn on Precise Location for the best nearby-trail results. TrailRide uses foreground location for Near Me.
GPS ride recording
Start recording outdoors with a clear view of the sky. Keep TrailRide open while recording unless the current app screen specifically says native background GPS is active. Pause before taking a long break and tap Stop to save the ride.
Apple Health
Apple Health sync is optional. If a ride will not sync, open the Health app, review TrailRide under Apps and Services, and confirm workout and route permissions are enabled.
Weather and trail conditions
Ride Score, recent rainfall, and drying estimates are planning aids. Refresh the app and check the trail’s official status before traveling or riding.
