Privacy Policy

Short version: TrailRide does not require an account, sell personal information, or use advertising trackers. Ride history and preferences are stored on your device. Location and health access are used only for features you choose.

Information TrailRide uses

Location: When you tap Near Me, request navigation, or record a ride, TrailRide uses your device location to find nearby trails, provide directions, and create the ride route. You control location permission in iOS Settings.

Ride and preference data: Recorded routes, distance, duration, elevation, favorites, planned rides, completed rides, and rider preferences are stored locally on your device. TrailRide has no user account or developer-operated cloud database for this information.

Apple Health: If you choose Apple Health sync, TrailRide asks permission to save completed workout details and route data to Apple Health. Apple Health access is optional and controlled through the Health app and iOS Settings.

External services

TrailRide contacts weather, air-quality, map, trail-search, and navigation services to provide app features. A location or searched area may be sent to these services to return the requested result. Current services may include Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap services such as Nominatim and Overpass, Leaflet map tiles, Google Maps, and Weather.com. Their handling of requests is governed by their own privacy policies.

Sharing and tracking

TrailRide does not sell personal information and does not use information for cross-app advertising or tracking. Data is shared only as needed to provide a feature you request, or when you intentionally export or share a ride or GPX file.

Retention and deletion

Local TrailRide data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. Apple Health data can be reviewed or deleted in the Health app. TrailRide cannot recover locally deleted information.

Children

TrailRide is a general-audience outdoor planning app and is not directed to children under 13.

Weather, trail condition, health, and Ride Score information is for planning only. It is not medical advice or a guarantee that a route is open or safe. Check official trail notices and current conditions before riding.
